A buddy of Mr. RickC got married just this past Saturday and my wife and I were fortunate to be invited to this great event. I got my world rocked when I learned that the party host was none other than this guy I'd heard about who builds guitars, and his name is RickC. !!!
So during the party RickC took me into his at-home guitar cave and I saw a hand-made acoustic guitar for the very first time in my entire life. I was blown away.
What's more, I discovered that what I'd heard from an "expert" long ago was all wrong: This guy 20 years ago told me that the junky bashed up old guitar I bought 20 years ago for nothing at a junk shop was exactly that -- JUNK, and I ought not even bother fixing it.
Well, from RickC I now have learned that what I have is a gem -- it's a Bay State parlour model from the 1800's. What's more, I had no idea that the Bay State name has a new life, and he's part of it!
Now, the wife and I tend to overstay our welcome at most parties ...cuz as everybody knows, the late crew is usually the fun crew ;D , and sure enough this past Saturday the sun went down, the fire got lit, the guitars came out, and we all got to do some serious barking at the moon. My sincere thanks to you, RickC !!!
