I doubt any of you are really into the Grateful Dead, but if you are: www.rukind.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=309&t=6981Mike Wald has become THE MAN when you are talking about all things concerning Jerry's Guitars. I've had the pleasure of corresponding with him regarding the Cripes Guitars and their electronics... especially the ones that were never delivered because of Jerry's death.

I like yours better ;D Dang! the original looks like something Dave would make Doh!! By the way, I had no idea you built guitars LOL!!! The original was given to Jerry by Graham Nash in '71, Jerry started using it in spring of '72... This guitar is THE SOUND that is Jerry's tone on the Europe 72 discs. The pickguard shattered and the brass plate was added early spring that year... Jerry used this guitar live until sometime in 1973, after he had received his Doug Irwin built custom guitar: Wolf. I am going to be getting the rest of the parts for her from www.jackofroses.com eventually. I actually saw an Swampass/slab maple strat on consignment 2 years ago, nearly bought it but I'm glad I didn't... I like the Ratocaster ever since I put the HolyGrails in her. The homespun stratoblaster definitely gives this thing BALLS, it has as much hair with single coils as you find from Dimarzio SD-2's. But it's grit free hair... think Boosta Grande style gain! I had NO idea you did guitar work either...
