Anyone ever heard of a Heerwagen Bass? I bought one on eBay some years back. It seems to be from the 80's. I've been refinishing it. Had it refretted and am planning on putting MM style pups in it. It's very Ric looking and it's got a nice Ric feeling neck. I even asked a German friend of mine about the name and she's never heard of it either. Definitely was manufactured in Germany and it was shipped used from someone in Germany. Just wondering anyone ever heard of it. Definitely a quality instrument. Comparable to Ibanez or the like.

Nope. Heard of a Volkswagen, but not a Heerwagen. ;D Is it a player for gigs and such or part of your vast collection? Blues Dues.

Oh, it's definitely going to be a player. I'm not one of those who collect guitars just to look at. I play everything I own. This one is shaped very similar to a Ric. Had two HB's in it like the bridge pup on a Ric. The cavities won't support single coils like a J bass. I'm thinking of routing the cavities out a tad and installing some alnico's or maybe some MM's with a preamp. Still finishing the body so it'll be awhile before it sees any gigs.

I've never heard of one. I've heard of a lot of wierd name brands but not a Heerwagen.
I'd be nice to see a pic of it, though.
