Hi Rich. you know me from other places, but yes I am a bass player and have about 50 basses some are classic, some are great, some are good players and some are junk. I've bought some fir investment, and some because I felt sorry for them.
But eh, what can I say.
I'm glad you have a bass forum and when I can finally get myself to post pics I'll do so.
Tim

Hi Tim -
Are you the "Tim" that bought Re-Tunes the subscription to "Vintage Guitar" Magazine?

Yes, Rich. I used to have a really bad case of GAS (Gear Aquisitional Syndrome)
My wife got tired of instruments all around the house, and I got tired of sleeping on the couch.
So, I've backed off for a bit.
But then again......

Well in that case, thank you.
I read them when I'm up there. Good articles and educational.

SCEMy pleasure. I think I have several back issues in decent condition. My wife had a royal "house cleaning party" and ditched about three years worth and considered taht she was doing me a favor. ?;^ ( But If I can find some, I'd be happey to mail them out. Yes they're educational, especially Michael Wright's column's. They guy is loaded with history and made both electric and acoustic instruments a science and study. I think with your paid subscription code you can also access them on the web too. I also believe that there are many back articles listed there as well. one thing about VGM is that the ad's tell a lot about what the going rate is for vintage instruments. Of course some of those dealers are dreamers, and prices have dropped quite a bit due to the slower economy, but it's good for a general "street price" on many items.

Man, I thought I was bad! My collection bounces between 15-20 total between basses, electrics and acoustics. I think my bass inventory is about 12 right now. Got an old Kramer Duke on its way right now. Looking forward to that.My nephew got hooked awhile back and he's taken advantage of my excess inventory! I'm single so I don't have anyone to rein me in on my GAS problem. Planning on starting a 12-step group but not until after the Duke gets here. Great to see other local bass players here. Somebody's got to hold it all together! Papa John

What has happened to your illustrious lead guitarist?
He hasn't been in for therapy for a while.

His taste in guitars always starts off with the word "Taylor". With one in college and one coming up, I think he's running scared. I'm slowly working on getting him to try out that AC30 you got. Hey, do I get a finders fee? Papa John

It's the 30th anniversary model ... all hand wired and weighs a ton. Killer sound though. It's number 701 of 1000 made. RCE

My wife got tired of instruments all around the house, and I got tired of sleeping on the couch. If she's in good shape and is free of belt buckle rash, she could probably be traded for a new bass AND a better couch! ;D
