Yeah. I'm not all that partial to acoustic basses but Michael Kelly stuff is certainly worth checking out. I've played a number of acoustics over the years. It's an acquired taste to me. That looks like a fretless. I'll bet it's got a sweet upright kind of sound. I may have to take a trip over there and check this out for myself. John

Sounds like an upright and it *is* fretless. RickC was playing it through a Fishman Solo amp (believe it or not) and it sounded great .... very much like an upright. If I remember to, tomorrow I am going to try it through a bass amp. RCE

Dick, I've never seen a fretless, but I've played a fretted MK acoustic, , and I thought it played rather nicely especially for no more than they really cost. Beautiful bass!

BTW, the one I played was a 4-banger.
H'mmm i wonder how long the fretbaord would last with those brass wounds on it? If it wa mine I''d probably play it plugged only and switch the strings over to either some Labella Tapewounds, or Fender 9120's which are actually a round wound core with a tape overlay, but I don't think the make a 5 string set of Tapes in Fender.
Thomastik-Infeld jazz flats ? Oh yeah!

One thing about a fretless bass. She'll sing to you when you're right, and sure tell you off when you're wrong!

Wow! Didn't realize how long I've been eyeballing this bass. 3 Years ! Well, it's mine now! Gotta tell you, I'm loving this bass! Very, very easy to play and has a killer tone. Having a ball with the uke bass, too! Gotta talk Brianna into getting some acoustic gigs. We're going to be doing the Plymouth Waterfront thing in July(?) but I'm itching to get a few gigs in with these two. Is that sound stage ready yet, Dick? ;-)
