I have two Guitarrons. One is pristine and the other I took and changed to a 4 string and re drilled the bridge to lower the action and bring the string spacing together to try to make and tune it more akin to a bass guitar. It's workable yet not perfect. So I sat down with this youtube clip and pulled the bass line with the recording. It's really interesting and a bit more difficult to play than what i was thinking. But after about the 4th pass I got it fairly well, but then again, and like about like every other piece of music I work with, I played it the way I thought it should it should be or at least myy enterpretation of it, and the fat bellied bass sounded good! I'm going to have to work with the guitarron some more. I could really start to like it.

I suppose what I should have said, was with a guitarron, or any other bass, it's easy to lay down a simple track for it, but when you listen deep into the theory and try to work around it it's a bit more sofisticated.
I guess it's as hard as one wishes to make it.
